Method 1: Sonde Mode (Locating the End Point)

To identify the end point and depth of a non-metallic duct or drain, use Sonde Mode:

  1. Energize the End Coil – Connect both Flexitrace terminals to a signal generator to activate the sonde.
  2. Locate the Sonde – Using a receiver, pinpoint the exact position and depth of the duct or drain.

Method 2: Line Mode (Tracing the Full Route)

To determine the complete path of a non-metallic duct or drain, use Line Mode:

    1. Attach a Signal Generator – Connect one terminal of the Flexitrace to a signal generator and the other to an earth stake or independent earth.
    2. Push and Trace – Insert the Flexitrace along the duct or drain, then use a Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT Receiver) to track its full length.
